What is Education for Sustainability?
The United Nations Decade for Education for Sustainable Development 2005-2014 recognises the centrality of young people and their education in the world's future.
The inspiring Global Decade identifies climate change, biological and cultural diversity, Indigenous Knowledge, social justice issues and health and wellbeing, as interconnected issues of 'sustainability' and therefore Education FOR Sustainability.
The UNDESD has partners in many countries, including Australia!
The ResourceSmart Schools Program is the Victorian expression of AuSSI and managed by Sustainability Victoria as a part of their ResourceSmart brand.
The state of Victoria is managed by regional Consortia who work with schools in areas that correspond with the Department of Education's regions.
